The conference takes place in front of a judge or a court facilitator, e.g. a magistrate. The conference is usually done in person, however depending on the county it may also be conducted via telephone.

Both parties are asked to complete a Sworn Financial Statement prior to the Initial Status Conference and it needs to be brought to this conference.
